Hello, I'm Tina — thank you for being here.
I am a native German speaker, born and raised in Germany, and moved to South Africa in 2009 after completing my matric. I am a qualified Montessori Directress and hold a Bachelor's degree in Inclusive Education.
I have several years of experience working with children and am passionate about supporting their individual learning journeys. I started offering German lessons as an extra-mural activity in 2021 alongside my work as a Montessori preschool teacher, and over time this has grown into my main afternoon focus.
My teaching approach is inspired by Montessori principles, meaning that each lesson is adapted to the child's age, interests, and stage of development. I aim to create a fun, engaging, and supportive environment where children feel confident to learn and use the language. Where helpful, I also provide follow-up activities for parents to support learning at home.
I teach children from ages 3 to 12 and strive to make learning German a positive and fun experience.
Every lesson is crafted to be engaging, age-appropriate, and filled with activities children genuinely enjoy.
Language games make vocabulary and grammar stick. Children learn best when they're having fun.
Music is a powerful memory tool. German songs and rhymes help children retain language naturally.

Real conversations build confidence. Children practise speaking from the very first lesson.
Lessons at your home for convenience, or at my home for a dedicated learning space — you choose.
Have a friend or sibling? Pair lessons are a great social way to learn and more affordable too.
